The lodge
Hamiltons Tented Camp stands on the banks of the N'waswitsontso river in the west of the Kruger National Park, inside the 10,000-hectare Imbali concession that it shares with Imbali and Hoyo Hoyo. The concession borders the Sabi Sand and Manyeleti reserves, and the camp takes its name from Colonel Stevenson-Hamilton, who helped found the park.
Its six tents sit on teak decks linked by timber walkways, each with a plunge pool, a Victorian bath, a rain shower and its own sala lounge. Brass fittings, steamer trunks and sepia photographs set the period style, butlers serve meals on the decks, and two safaris a day are included.
